The glamorous Eldorado Biarritz represents the height of luxury for high-speed, open road, top down adventure on 1957 American roads. The Biarritz had a base price of nearly $7,000, but stayed in demand, as Cadillac produced only 1,800 copies from their total of nearly 147,000 Cadillac's for the 1957 model year.

This beautiful example has benefited from a thorough frame-off restoration that was completed in late 2012. The list of work executed includes a complete engine and transmission tear down and rebuild, along with a driveline overhaul. Additionally, the Cadillac has a complete brake system refurbishment, all new suspension components; new hydraulic pump, cylinder and hoses, along with new fuel tank, sending unit and fuel lines.

The underside of the body is “as original” using red oxide primer; all electrical components have been overhauled, including a new $4,500 reproduction electrical harness. The Eldorado has been fitted with all new weather stripping, the top frame has been reworked, and all new glass has been installed (including windshield).

The Biarritz has been refinished in the original color of Dakotah Red – the base and clear coat were sanded through a 3,000 grit paper, and buffed to a “wet-look” gloss – and the results are spectacular. The interior has new leather upholstery and the white vinyl soft-top is also new. It is reported that thousands of dollars were invested in the triple-plating of chrome and polishing of stainless steel components.

The Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is powered by a 365-cid V-8 engine that is equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors. The transmission is automatic. Among the many conveniences on-board are a fiberglass parade boot; plus six-way power seat, power windows, power locks, power top, power steering, power antenna and power brakes. Even the original radio has been reworked and works flawlessly on this fine car.
