Pedigree Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 SEL 4.5. For details and information call or text Ken Baker at 561-866-1601.

On August 31, 1972, Mr. Frederick Rohe of Newport Beach, California took delivery of this magnificent Mercedes-Benz through the European delivery program in Germany. He paid $10,421 for his new ultra-luxury sport sedan. At the time, a huge amount of money. Mr. Rohe had specified his new Mercedes to be in Silver metallic (735)
with Black leather interior (241). He specified it to have an electric sunroof, a floor shift automatic transmission, white wall tires, a Becker radio, electric windows and power steering. His Mercedes-Benz had completed production earlier that month.

How do we know these details? We have all of the original paperwork from when he purchased the car including the original European delivery confirmation, letters, and invoice. Accompanying this paperwork are extensive service records, all of the original books, tools, brochure and first aid kit.

This Mercedes-Benz has been well cared for throughout its entire history. The previous owner is a well-known collector who meticulously maintained it and preserved all of its documentation. As with all of our cars, this Mercedes-Benz received a thorough inspection and service. For us to get the car ready for sale, we had performed:

• Oil/filter change
• Install four new Hankook white wall tires
• Evacuate and recharge air-conditioning system
• Rewire auxiliary fan
• Replace various interior lightbulbs
• Install Becker Mexico radio-Recently refurbished by Becker radio
• Replace horns
• Replace wiper blades with correct ones
• Replace glove box latch and handle
• Replace AC control switches
• Wheel alignment

Over $3000 was spent to bring everything up-to-date. This 280 SEL is now turnkey and ready for its new owner to drive and enjoy. It is an absolute pleasure to drive. The engine fires right up and idles smoothly. It makes excellent power and has barely perceptible shifts from the three speed automatic transmission. The air conditioning blows cold and hard as you would expect. All of the windows, sunroof, door locks all work perfectly. With brand new tires, there is no vibration, beautiful handling, and the four wheel disc brakes stop this car quickly and smoothly with no pulling. With the exception of the clock, all of the gauges work without flaw. This Mercedes is ready to be driven anywhere.

Inside the leather is in beautiful condition, the wood still has a high gloss, the headliner is in excellent condition, and there is no cracking in the steering wheel. The Coco mats were replaced a couple of years ago and look like new.

Outside, all of the chrome is magnificent with no visible pitting. The rubber is in excellent condition. The body was repainted to a high level some years ago in it's original Silver metallic and only shows minor wear. As expected, there is no rust or bubbling. As one can see from the photos all of the rubber trim is in excellent condition.

While most of these cars need many thousands of dollars spending on them for them, this car is ready for its new owner to drive and enjoy.

At Pedigree Motorcars we show cars by appointment only. To arrange your private showing call or text Ken Baker at 561-866-1601.
