Regarded as the last “real“ Cadillac the last generation Cadillac Brougham is the end of an era of the large traditional luxurious Cadillac sedan. There were many versions of this car but the most desirable, and most expensive, was the D'Elegance with the 5.7 L V8. While very few were produced, they are highly sought after classics today. These cars can be driven daily. They are very reliable, powerful, and even by today's standards have excellent air conditioning and amenities.

This example is the ultimate version of the Brougham D'Elegance. It has the desirable 5.7 liter V8 engine. The 5.7 Liter engine, even though rated only a little higher than the base 5.0 engine, is nothing in comparison. It has at least 50 more usable HP and even more torque than that over the 5.0. It was underrated. The 5.7 liter engine goes way deeper than the motor. The trans is the HD/Police version of the 700R4. The Diff is the large "Corporate 8.5" vs the little, (no business in a big car) 7.5 in the 5.0 cars, the suspension is different, the cooling system is different and there are even more things that you got for the small price of the 5.7 liter option. What came with the 5.7 liter option that was not desirable is the "GAS GUZZLER" tax that was imposed on the 5.7 optioned cars. GM made the 5.7 liter option very cost effective compared to the substantial differences with the 5.7 vs the 5.0, to help offset the 1500 whack the govt. added on the price just for the luxury of having a car with some good power. Because of that, the majority of the 90-92 are 5.0 liter cars, making them really not a whole lot different than the 86-89 versions other than in looks. However, the 5.7 liter versions are not the same offering. This was the only version of this body style car that had great power, fun driving characteristics and heavy duty long lasting hardware! It is hard to find a low mile 5.7 car unless it was slated to be a collector the day it was bought.

Sold new on March 19, 1990 to a buyer in Lansing, Michigan. This Brougham has been meticulously maintained throughout its life. The previous owner bought it as a gift for his elderly mother. She had owned the twin to it when it was new and had repeatedly told her son it was her favorite car. He had purchased it for her to bring back the memories of her favorite car. Unfortunately she no longer was able to drive. Since she couldn't drive it, he didn't do there service work that was needed.

As with every car at Pedigree, this Cadillac received a thorough inspection. To prepare it for sale, we had performed:

Replace Antenna motor
Repair radio
Replace wiper blades
Replace Serpentine Belt
Replace front shocks
Replace rear air shocks
Replace front and rear emblems

This Brougham is now turn key. It's ready to be driven and enjoyed daily. This is a classic that can be used daily, taken out for special occasions, and shown. Its new owner will be proud. The Black Sapphire Firemist (Dark Blue) paint gleams as does the chrome. It's especially attractive against the grey lower body cladding. Inside the dark blue leather in soft, subtle and inviting. Every feature and control works including the power seat recliners. The interior is incredibly impressive for a 32 year old car.
