1987 was the last year for the traditional XJ6. The Series III model has long been regarded as the most beautiful of the modern day Jaguar sedans. Most of these cars have been used up, modified, and have deteriorated to an on usable state. This example is the exact opposite. It is a well-documented, extremely well-maintained, highly original example. The quality of this car is amongst the top of any surviving Series III XJ6. It is extremely rare to find one so well preserved and maintained. This XJ6 Vanden Plas is not for the bargain hunter. This car is for the enthusiast who is loooking for the finest example they can find. While there are many of these cars on the market for low prices, all of those cars will need MANY thousands of dollars to be spent on them. We know these cars well and what it takes to make them a reliable, safe, enjoyable daily driver. We spent at our cost over $6000 to get this car ready for sale. Its now ready for a new owner who just wants to turn the key and enjoy it.

Originally sold new at Rally Motors in Paramus, New Jersey to a New York City executive. The first owner had this car until 2000 and he had put 49,000 miles on it. We bought it from a collector who kept it at his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine. Over the last several years the car had been used sparingly but still had been maintained properly. We sold this car a couple of years ago to a Jaguar enthusiast who enjoyed and drove it frequently. We have since purchased it from the estate of that gentleman and are proud to offer it again. When we originally sold this Jaguar, we spent at over $6000 to get this car ready for sale. It has since been properly maintained and is ready for its new owner to enjoy.

As with all of our Jaguars this car received a thorough inspection by the Jaguar Doctor in Boca Raton, Florida. To get this car ready for sale we originally performed:

Replace transmission spool

Replace power steering rack bushings and washers

Install two new horns

Replace rear brake pads

Replace all three fuel valves and cleaned out charcoal canister

Replace exhaust "Y" pipe

Change oil and filter

Install new air conditioning compressor and dryer

Install new window master switch

New washer pump

New windshield wipers

Wheel alignment

Install four new Goodyear tires

New Master Brake Cylinder

Refinish dash and center console wood
