At Pedigree we are always looking for the finest original top quality classic cars. We hear about a lot of cars that are not as described. When we learned about this car, we thought it can't be that good…. But we were wrong. This is one of the finest 420 SEL's we have seen in the past 20 years. It's impressive in every way. Originally sold new on May 30, 1990 in San Francisco, California. It remained in California until 2020. Its previous owner is a collector in Florida who spent over $6000 to bring everything up to date for it to be driven daily. Unfortunately he wasn't able to enjoy it after bringing everything up to date.

This 420 SEL is in one of the finest and most desirable color combinations of Midnight Blue (904) with a Crème Beige leather interior. (459). It's highly original and presents as close to new condition. This car does not look, feel, or drive like a 33 year old car. It features chrome finished original wheels. They were a very popular California accessory and are easily replaced should the new owner wish to do so. The paint, chrome, trim, seals, leather, wood, carpets, and switches are all in impressive condition. There is no fading anywhere and no pitting. This car shows more like a 5 year old car rather than a 33 year old one.

When we received it, we performed our usual inspection. Only minor work was needed.
All we needed to do was Change the oil and filter and the brake fluid. Such was the condition of the car. We have since driven it a couple of hundred miles and are thoroughly impressed. Every function in the car works and works as it should. It starts and idles so smoothly, you can hardly feel the engine running. The air conditioning blows hard and cold. One the day we photographed it, it was 90 degrees outside and the engine temperature was always on the cooler side.

This 420SEL is completely turn key and ready to be driven and enjoyed anywhere. It can be used as a daily driver, a special car for Saturday night dinner, or shown. Its new owner will be proud however they choose to use it. This Mercedes is not for the bargain hunter. It's for the discriminating buyer who only wants the best and wants a car that they can just get into and enjoy.
