On November 26, 1986 Mr. Herbert Merrill of Dallas, Texas took delivery of this beautiful Jaguar. He initially leased it and purchased it after his lease ended. When he took delivery he purchased a five year extended warranty. He had the Jaguar wire wheels installed as well as the leaper on the hood. Mr. Merrill kept his beloved Jaguar until his death in 2006. His widow kept it and decided to sell it in December, 2023.

We recently acquired is Vanden Plas we had it shipped directly to the Jaguar Doctor in Boca Raton, Florida. We knew that it would be in need of a major service to make it ready for the road again. This Jaguar is all original with the exception of its maintenance items. With only 12,000 miles, this is probably the lowest mile 1987 Vanden Plas to be found anywhere. Being that this car has always been in Dallas , TX, it is free from any rust or corrosion. It looks as beautiful as you would expect. The paint absolutely gleams as does all of the chrome. The rubber seals are still pliable and there's no dry rot anywhere. It really looks stunning. Inside all of the original leather is soft and beautiful with no die work. The wood dashboard and center console are free of any cracks and there is no fading. The carpets are equally as beautiful as are the lambswool rugs.

Jaguars like this are very rare. To find one with this kind of miles, condition, all of the accessories and documentation is something that we hardly ever see. Although it has never been shown, this car can do very well in a concours due to its originality and condition. Obviously, this Jaguar is not for the bargain hunter. It is for the enthusiast/connoisseur who is looking for the very best.
