Presented here is one of the finest, if not the finest Silver Shadow in the world. That's a bold statement and one that only the most discerning connoisseur can confirm or debate after a personal inspection. This Silver Shadow Long Wheelbase was produced in December 1976. It's order to build was received by Rolls-Royce Motorcars in July, 1976. It was specified to be painted in Acrylic White with a Dark Blue leather interior with matching Dark Blue carpets, a Grey broadcloth headliner, and a Dark blue everflex top. The body was complimented by double Dark Blue Fine Lines. The interior top roll, knee roll, were also to be covered in Dark Blue leather. Upon completion it had a US price of $44,225 and was sold through Taylor Rolls-Royce in West Palm Beach, Florida. In March, 1977 it was sold to Andy Thornal of Andy Thornal-Expedition Outfitter. A company that's still in existence today. Mr. Thornal retained the car until he sold it to world renowned collector, Guy Lewis in or before 2015. Today this Rolls-Royce is still on its original title (pictured in the gallery) that was issued in March, 1977. Obviously with all these specifics, this motorcar has extensive documentation.

In addition to its documented history, this Silver Shadow is 100% original and in concourse condition. It literally defies its age in nearly every respect. It's paint gleams and is as close to flawless as we have ever seen on a Silver Shadow. The everflex top is perfect with no deterioration, bubbling, or looseness. Every crease is as tight as it was when it left the factory in Crewe, England. All of the brightwork is equally impressive and gleams like jewelry. The lights and lenses are all perfectly clear with no visible cracks or defects. There aren't even any deterioration flaws in the fine lines on the body or the details on the matching wheel covers.

Upon opening the doors, the aroma of the conelly hides are inviting you inside. The leather is all original, never dyed or retouched. It's as soft and subtle as you would expect. Other than showing the slightest wear on the driver's seat, this interior is flawless. The wood, leather, carpets, headliner, top roll and trim are all magnificent. Even the wood that surrounds the rear window has no deterioration. Your feet simply sink into the dark blue Wilton Lamb's Wool rugs and if you are in the back they also rest on the foot rests.

Driving this Silver Shadow is as impressive as looking at it. Upon the twist of the key the 6.75 liter V8 springs to life. Its idle is barely perceptible. When sitting at a traffic light, we could not feel it …. It's so smooth it barely feels like its running. The transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are strong and secure. No warning lights came on and the Air Conditioning blows hard and ice cold, just as it should. With the exception of the clock, everything works …. even the electric radio antenna and the cruise control.

The original owner maintained it to the highest standards as did Mr. Lewis. Since his ownership, renowned Rolls-Royce technician Ian Taylor has maintained it. This IS the finest driving first generation Silver Shadow we have driven in years.
An active member of AACA, this Silver Shadow was judged in 2020 where it received a First Junior award and in 2023 where it received a Senior award. This verifies not only its originality but also its quality to receive both of these prestigious awards.
