Attention American luxury car enthusiasts. This is a very special Lincoln that deserves a close look. This is not a typical Mark V. The Diamond Jubilee Edition is a very special car.

What made the Diamond Jubilee Edition special:

1. Exclusive Styling & Colors
• Only two exterior colors were offered: Diamond Blue and Jubilee Gold.
• Nearly monochromatic exterior: color-matched grille, wheels, vinyl top, body moldings, trunk lid, etc. Chrome was used more sparingly.
• Vinyl top and dress-up features like simulated spare tire cover ("Continental kit") matching the vinyl top.

2. Interior Upgrades & Trim
• Unique interior trim for the edition: bucket front seats (replacing the usual split bench), a center console with a padded armrest.
• High-wear interior surfaces used padded leather accents.
• Opera windows with "simulated diamond chips" inside the glass; the “diamond” detail in the “i” of the “Jubilee” script on the windows.

3. Special Accessories & Collectibles
• A leather-bound owner's manual with special “Diamond Jubilee Edition” cover.
• Special tool kit in the trunk: a high quality leather kit from Wright Tool, including tools, bulb pack, flashlight, etc., with “Diamond Jubilee Edition” engraving.
• Keys with wood applique inserts matching the edition, plus regular “Lincoln star” key sets.
• A dash nameplate: early ones were 24k gold plated (about 1×3 in) with “This Diamond Jubilee Edition Built Especially For …” etc., later ones smaller and simpler.

4. Rarity & Price
• Only 5,159 units of the Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V were produced in 1978.
• The Diamond Jubilee package was expensive: it added about $8,000 over the regular Mark V base price. This made it one of the most expensive Fords at that time.

5. Other notable mechanical or functional features
• The “Miles-to-Empty” LED gauge, standard on the Diamond Jubilee, optional on other Mark Vs.
• Some unique elements like the opera windows with the diamond chips inside, special hood ornament with crystal-style inserts.

The Interior of a Diamond Jubilee Mark V is a special place. It features front bucket seats instead of split bench, with broad-lace inserts; padded center console with armrest (with umbrella stored under lid); padded leather trim on dashboard, console, door armrests; unique wood-grain trim styles; richer carpeting which is thicker/plusher than regular Mark V; cloth headliner of higher quality; unique keys with wood inserts; leather-bound owner's manual; exclusive tool roll in the trunk.

Of the 5159 Diamond Jubilee Mark V's produced, only 2602 were produced in Diamond Blue. This Mark V was built on December 20, 1977. It was sold new through MULLIGAN Lincoln-Mercury and delivered on March 20, 1978.

This Mark V comes to us from a long-term owner in California. It was part of a collection since 2013 where it was maintained to the highest standards. This Lincoln is all original with no evidence of any paint work or modifications.

As with all cars at Pedigree a thorough inspection and service was performed to prepare it for sale. To make this car turnkey for its new owner we had performed:

• Change oil/filter
• Replace Starter Solenoid
• Recharge Air Conditioning, Repair leaks
• Replace passenger window motor
• Repair passenger door latch
• Replace both low beam headlights

This is an incredible driving Mark V. It starts immediately with one twist of the key. The engine idles so smoothly you can hardly tell that it is running. It Accelerates smoothly and cruises along silently. Everything in this car works including the power vent windows, power radio antenna, and cruise control. All the new owner needs to do is twist the key sit back and enjoy it. We encourage any perspective buyers to personally inspect this Mark V, it literally defies its age.
